BOOK BUYING/PRICING POLICIES (Revised Oct.2010)

 

THANK-YOU for recycling your books into ministry for others through our store.
Here are a few things you'll want to know;

"OUR BUYING AND PRICING IS DONE DIFFERENTLY THAN IN A RETAIL STORE...BUT DONE WITH CARE, THROUGH PRAYER, AND IS FAIR."

1) Pricing is done on a first come/first serve basis.
If you are bringing in a medium to large load of books
(eg: anything over 1 small box) we will take your name and phone number and
call you when your load is processed.
If you are bringing in a smaller load (eg: anything less than 1 small box)
we can "eyeball" your load quickly and give you a "store credit" voucher
on the spot.
"Eyeballing" is an educated guess, (done quickly) so one of us may lose out
a bit in the final calculations, but we try to be as fair as possible!!!

2) We price each book at what we think it will sell for and
you receive 25% of that amount in "store credit".
** Many customers simply wish to donate their books to our ministry
and we are always happy to receive these donation loads (with thanks!).**

3) Pricing is based on;
 -"Supply and demand"
(eg; popular author or topic area-vs-unknown author or topic area)
-Hard cover-vs-Soft cover
-Condition

4) Christian books that we cannot use are given to a variety of other
ministries, unless, when you drop off your books, you inform us
that you would like these ones back!
(these may be great books but ones that we already have enough of on the shelf) -
-Non-Christian books, books in very poor condition &/or ones that are
musty or moldy are discarded.

 

***Please note; Occasionally we are unable to find a home for the extra books
that we cannot use and they are placed into recycle bins***

5) Credit Vouchers;
 Store credit comes to you on bright yellow card stock
(the size of a regular credit card), that you must hold onto and
use at the till to redeem that credit.
(WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN CARDS)
Our credit vouchers have no expiry date but can only be used to buy used books.
(We occasionally have a few new books, new CD's, plaques, pictures, bracelets
& necklaces, etc. which are not eligable for purchase with a
credit voucher...these items will be marked "no credit vouchers" )

6) We are able to take up to 5 (reasonably sized) boxes at one time,
( whether for sale or donation) from any one person!
This limit is in place because we are trying to use our small office space
fairly for all who wish to drop boxes off that day/week.

*** If you do have more than 5 boxes we will be happy to receive
the next 5 when you come to pick up your credit from the first 5.***

7) We accept cassette tapes on a donation basis only.

8) We are only able to take tapes (whether speaker or music), VHS, CD's & DVD's
that are professionally done (not home copies).

CAUTION:
Please note that "relinquishing" your box(es) over to us
(or signing the yellow "Receipt/Waiver" form), means that your books
will be priced and put out for sale as they are finished being priced.
By signing the yellow receipt/waiver form, you are agreeing to
accepting the credit amount we are able to pay for your box-load.
Please be very sure that this is what you want to do with your books,
as we cannot retrieve them from the sales floor because you are unsatisfied
with the pay out amount!
This store is a ministry...Whether used or almost new, our books are priced very reasonably, in hopes of getting good Christian material into the hands of
pre-Christian, as well as long time Christian people.
